I chose Smack because I love dogs and fully support their commitment to pet health. As a Canadian local brand with clean ingredients, they align perfectly with my values. However, their initial packaging lacked vibrancy and excitement, inspiring me to rebrand and bring new energy to a brand I genuinely support.

Are to offer premium, nutritional pet food to honor Zorro's legacy and enhance pet health and welfare.



Their mission

Is to provide pet owners with a raw, pure, and nutritional diet superior to conventional pet food options, demonstrating a dedication to improving pet health.

Target Audience

Smack Pet Food's target audience includes health-conscious pet owners who prefer natural, organic, and raw food options that mimic a pet's natural diet, prioritizing high-quality and nutritious choices for their pets.

Developing Visual Identity

In this section the focus is to develop a cohesive visual identity for the company Smack. This includes defining a color palette that reflects the brand's values, as well as choosing typography that prioritizes readability.

Color Palette

Smack's color scheme was designed to be playful, energetic, lively, and cheerful. It describes what dogs mean to humans and that the rebranding is softer but still vibrant. Smack's specifically chosen color scheme not only improves the visual appeal of their dog food items but also evokes feelings of life, freshness, and happiness.

Typography

Smacks fonts selection was made with the intention of bringing a fun and visually compelling part to the world of dog food. The fonts used are designed to captivate dog owners and act as an effective way to market for the company.

Logo Sketch

Before crafting the final logo, various sketches were meticulously created to capture the essence of the Smack brand, undergoing multiple iterations to refine and perfect its representation.

Final Logo

The finalized logo features a character sporting a playful and cheeky "smack" expression, complete with a tongue sticking out. The tongue-out logo symbolizes a dog's tongue, evoking a sense of playfulness, spontaneity, and energy—qualities that encapsulate the essence of what a dog should be: fun and lively. The tongue is also correlated to the emphasis of "lip-smackingly good" quote found on the website. This design choice establishes a relaxed and approachable image.

Deliver

Launching Success

In this section, it is the accumulation of the finalized logos, the color palettes and how they all come together in mockups and prototypes. The dog food packaging bursts with lively, playful shapes and colors, reflecting the diverse uniqueness of dogs. Infused with vibrant hues like blues, greens, and yellows, it exudes a light, energetic vibe. The mischievous tongue-out logo front and center adds a sense of fun and approachability.
