Research

Research shows a growing trend among Millennials and Gen Z in purchasing houseplants, mainly influenced by social media exposure and the pandemic. This demographic, typically comprising small households without teens or children, demonstrates a significant interest in online purchasing, with a 53% increase expected into 2021. The target audience for Bloom Buds falls within the 20-40 age range, showing openness to e-commerce platforms and a keen interest in lifestyle trends.

Problem Statement:

Lack of knowledge about proper plant care, restricted access to reputable plant vendors, and the trouble of bringing plants from nurseries into one's home are some of the reasons why urban dwellers and plant enthusiasts sometimes struggle to obtain and keep healthy houseplants.

Materialize

Developing Visual Identity

In this section, we delve into the creative essence of Bloom Buds branding journey. The carefully chosen typography, the harmonious blend of colors, and the thought process behind the logo creation.

Color Palette

I purposefully chose a unique approach to the color scheme by using tones of orange, beige, brown, and green in relations to tropical colors. It differentiates from the typical green color spectrum seen in comparable apps. In order to differentiate our app from the competition and establish a more approachable relationship with our users, I wanted to infuse warmth and friendliness through this vivid diverse color scheme.

Typography

The typography that I chose for Bloom Buds are: Roca Black font to give our headers a striking and eyecatching appearance. To ensure a smooth user experience, I also chose the Montserrat font because of its balanced design and best readability in our application

Logo Design

For the logo, I specifically opted for a Birds Nest Snake Plant, to embody the essence of our brand. Featuring a plant as our logo not only aligns with the company's focus but also ensures our brand remains distinctive and recognizable to our users.

The name "Bloom Buds" and the inclusion of the plant in the logo are intentional decisions. Plants, universally symbolizing growth, development, and life, aligning with the company's values.

The term "buds" signifies the initiation of development and growth, particularly fitting for our new company as we aspire to progress alongside our audience's shared passion for plants.

Lastly the word "buds" adds a playful and charming element that implies companionship. This fits in nicely with our plant delivery service and helps to build a warm and approachable brand image.
